We’re looking for a Senior Recruiter to recruit, source, interview, screen, qualify and refer top talent for job openings.
Our corporate headquarters is in Chicago, IL near O'Hare. We offer 401k plus vision, dental and medical benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the recruitment process for assigned job requisitions, ensuring consistent process management that balances compliance, business needs and optimal candidate experience.
- Confers with the hiring managers to identify needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills.
- Provides counsel to hiring managers regarding marketplace trends, competitive intelligence and strategic recommendations for attracting the best talent and for raising the profile of products in various markets.
- Develops and recommends recruiting strategies for individual positions based upon hiring needs and assessment of the local labor markets.
- Coordinates placement of job advertisements in various media.
- Sources candidates, utilizing internet sites, external recruiters and employment agencies.
- Drives talent acquisition strategies aimed at increasing diverse representation. Develops and maintains a network of contacts, particularly those specialized in placing minority, disability and veteran candidates, to help identify and source qualified candidates.
- Qualifies applicants against job requirements, reviewing job orders and utilizing manual or computerized file search. Reviews employment applications to evaluate the candidates’ work history, education, and training, job skills, compensation needs, as well as any other qualifications.
- Initiates contact with potential qualified candidates for specific job openings. Screens and interviews applicants to obtain work history, job skills, previous education and training and salary requirements.
- Refers qualified candidates for additional interviews with others in the organization. Arranges travel and lodging for out-of-town applicants.
- Assists in managing Affirmative Action efforts, ensuring compliance with EEO/Diversity Programs. Ensures hiring managers understand their role and adhere to our Affirmative Action obligations during the recruitment process.
- Manages accurate candidate documentation in the applicant tracking system. Maintains records of applicants not selected for employment.
- Tracks metrics for strategic analysis of recruiting efforts. Creates and maintains weekly reports on KPI.
- Partners with recruiting peers to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Provides ongoing communication regarding feedback, concerns and recommendations to enhance the company’s ability to attract talent. Assists in researching and evaluating selection and placement techniques.
- Remains current with the latest recruiting trends and sourcing techniques. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, with 7 years of experience in recruiting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience recruiting for sales and management roles.
- Knowledge of affirmative action plans and a practical understanding of requirements.
- Experience with online recruiting and selection.
- Strong communication skills. Excellent customer service skills, with a sense of professionalism.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels including providing advice to hiring managers.
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously while overseeing the entire recruiting life cycle.
- Strong project- and time- management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet timelines and deliverables.
- Creative problem solver with strong decision-making skills and the ability to understand the business implications of decisions from both the company and the applicant/employee perspective.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Comfort with high-volume recruitment in a highly-competitive environment.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement, seeking new sourcing options and creative approaches to sourcing and delivering candidates.
- Ability to deliver excellent applicant experience.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
- Proficient with Applicant Tracking Systems.
